Reflections

On those loose bricks of old places
Strange shadows of watery faces

Under a sky made of waves
A world for recognition craves

When you write reflections on drawings
And I rain words on paintings

Something tells us it's never enough
On whispered songs, their voices rough,

Splashed phrases "please come near"
The sea calls you, can you hear?

Orange buildings drown on waters
Their human clay melts and sputters

Afraid to dive, afraid to try,
Afraid to plunge, but not to die

What if we don't want to come back?
What if we want to embrace the black?

We listen, never too drunk to do it
We listen, never too sober to forget it

Let's surrender our bones to fate
Fall through a quicksilver ground

Why do we stand here and wait
Let's soar through waters of sound

Let's drink on glasses thrown from bridges
Under broken umbrellas full of stitches

And looking up, seeing the city,
Looking up the lights of pity,

We'll find ourselves on our reflection,
Reaching the sky we'll find connection.
